Paul Fairbrook – "The Ritchie Boys"

The Ritchie BoysJoin Paul Fairbrook for a fascinating evening of history first hand. Fairbrook was an original member of “The Ritchie Boys,” a group of young, mostly German Jewish immigrants who played a key role in counter-intelligence operations that secured the Allied victory in World War II.

This evening program is included with regular museum admission, as part of the museum's 1st & 3rd Thursdays series, featuring complimentary wine and snacks beginning at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Exhibition now on display

Times Square KissMemories of World War II: Photographs from the archives of The Associated Press is a spectrum of more than 100 photographic reproductions from all theaters of the war and the home front, ranging from photographer Joe Rosenthal’s classic Iwo Jima flag raising in 1945 to scores of pictures not seen in decades.

In the exhibit, familiar scenes of Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor, along with British and American troops hitting Normandy beaches on D-Day and marching through newly liberated Paris, are juxtaposed with hidden surprises sure to evoke strong memories among older Americans.

Poster imageFine Feathered Friends—the second offering in the museum’s San Joaquin Roots Series—combines photographs, artifacts, bird specimens and artwork to tell the story of how man’s view of the birds of the Delta has evolved from a simple economic commodity to be exploited into a complex recreational and aesthetic resource requiring thoughtful management.
