7:00 PM

At the opening of the Smithsonian traveling exhibition Black Wings: American Dreams of Flight, aviation-automotive historian and author Dr. David G. Styles will give a special presentation drawn from his newest book, The Tuskegee Airmen & Beyond: The Road to Equality.

This event connects with the Black Wings exhibition by bringing stories of African Americans’ struggles to fly before WWII right through to their successes in space.

This event is included with regular admission, as part of the museum's 1st & 3rd Thursdays series, featuring complimentary wine and snacks beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Seating is limited, and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, contact Curator of Education Lisa Cooperman at (209) 940-6315 or education@hagginmuseum.org.
