Crocker Art Museum, Old Sacramento and the Leland Stanford Mansion

Saturday, June 11, 2016
8:45 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Join the Department of Museum Travel for an exciting day in Sacramento.  The day begins with a stop at the Crocker Art Museum to see the temporary exhibition Andy Warhol: Portraits. This exhibit is organized by The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and it includes a broad sampling of Warhol’s self-portraits, and portraits of the diverse 20th-century iconic figures who eagerly sat for him. In addition to the Andy Warhol exhibit, tour members will have the opportunity to view the Crocker Art Museum’s many other permanent collections and exhibitions.

The group will reconvene around noon with a stop in Old Sacramento for lunch and a little shopping, if time permits. The final stop will be at the Leland Stanford Mansion which has recently completed extensive restoration and rehabilitation and serves as the official state reception center for government use. You won’t want to miss this stunning example of California splendor and elegance in the Victorian era!
