Gallery Talk: Marine Artist Katherine B. Young
San Francisco-based artist Katherine B. Young gives a talk about her life, her art and the American Society of Marine Artists exhibition.
Young describes her work as an exploration of the spiritual in nature, specifically in the vast spaces of ocean and sky. She begins her paintings with a layer of gold or silver leaf and builds layers of imagery that evoke a calm and meditative atmosphere.
Join us as this artist, who is also a Duke and Stanford University educated surgeon, shares her insights.
This evening event is included with regular admission, as part of the museum's 1st & 3rd Thursdays series, featuring complimentary wine and snacks beginning at 6:30 p.m.
