The Illustrator & the Hero: Inventing a Mythology in Pictures

Alice A. Carter, professor, artist, scholar, and founder of the Animation/Illustration Program at San Jose State University will speak about The Illustrator and the Hero: Inventing a Mythology in Pictures. This program will explore the connection of J.C. Leyendecker, Alex Ross and the national infatuation with the Superhero—a character who mirrors our best hopes for ourselves and for our country.
