SPECTACULAR ACHIEVEMENTS:
Audubon's Animals of North America
July 6-August 24
Seventy original hand-colored lithographs from John James Audubon's magnum opus, The Viviparious Quadrupeds of North America, will be on display at The Haggin Museum July 6-August 24 in the special exhibition Spectacular Achievements: Audubon's Animals of North America.
Wonderfully animated, expertly executed and beautifully printed in large format, these images are some of the finest ever made of North American animals.

CARL V. MILLER:
A Retrospective
July 13-August 24
This summer marks the first public exhibition of the museum's collection of watercolors, woodblock prints and sketchbooks by master artist Carl Vosburgh Miller.
Miller was a local artist whose watercolor skills were recognized by the American Watercolor Society, Midwest Watercolor Society and Watercolor Society West. This retrospective of his work is a tribute to his artistic achievement and the legacy of a remarkable artist.

| Summer Art Workshop registration open |

Sessions held July 8-18 & July 22-August 1
Registration is open for the 2008 Summer Art Workshop for children ages 5-7 & 8-10.
This summer our adventure in art will explore different printmaking techniques: styrofoam, wood, linoleum block printing, chop marks, collagraphs and monoprints. It will be inspired by the special exhibition Audubon's Animals of North America and the the beasties in the museum's permanent collection.
Registration will be by mail with classes filled on a first-come, first-served basis and limited to 25 students each. The workshop brochure and registration form can be mailed to you or downloaded from our web site.

The Stockton Art League is now accepting entries for its 55th juried art competition and exhibition. The original competition was conceived to recognize, promote and reward
excellence in Northern California art and this year is being expanded to include artists residing in the United States. More than $5,000 in total cash awards will be presented.
