55th Stockton Art League Juried Exhibition
September 14 - November 9, 2008
Exhibition PosterThe Stockton Art League's Juried Exhibition returns to The Haggin Museum for its 55th year, where an even more diverse and eclectic mix of works than previous years will be on display and for sale from Sept. 14-Nov 9.

Originally open to only Northern California artists, entries for this year's competition were accepted from across the country. All the works submitted are original, completed within the last two years and have not previously shown in any Stockton Art League Exhibit at The Haggin Museum.

Juror of Selection Gil Dellinger selected 102 entries for display from a pool of 355 entries. Dellinger was a professor of fine art at the University of the Pacific for 30 years and is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, where he has earned the Master Pastellist distinction.

"Gil has provided us with an eclectic show that has something of interest for everyone," Exhibition Chairperson Teresa Hickey said.

The accepted entries, representing nine states, include watercolors, acrylics, oil paintings, pastels, sculpture, assemblage, collage, mixed media and graphics. Entries in each medium will be presented with cash awards totaling more than $5,000 by Juror of Awards Ray Roberts. Roberts is a nationally recognized oil painter with signature status in four major art organizations, including the Plein-Air Painters of America.

A complete list of the accepted works, their awards and prices is available here.
