The final 'Thanks for the Mummeries' event will be held on the museum's Free Admission Saturday (1st Saturday of every month). Hands-on projects will fill the galleries: wrap a mummy, craft a scarab, stamp some hieroglyphics, examine an "ancient dig site" with our hands-on archaeology cart, get made up with Egyptian eyes and more. Mummies, Martinis & More This evening event for adults will feature a selection of special ‘mummy martinis.' A panel discussion with Curator of History Tod Ruhstaller and Record Columnist Mike Fitzgerald will give attendees the opportunity to hear behind-the-scenes anecdotes and share memories of the mummy over the years. An entertaining trivia contest/game show will follow where tables of eight compete. Admission is $5 per person (cash only). The popular Movie Night in the Park returns for one night only: July 17. After sundown (approximately 8:30 p.m.), the 1999 summer blockbuster film The Mummy* (PG-13) starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, will be screened on the rear wall of the Haggin under the night sky. Complimentary popcorn will be available but attendees are encouraged to bring their own food and drink. Movie snacks will be available for purchase. No reservations are necessary for this event. Seating on the grass will be available beginning at 6:00 p.m. Bring your own chairs and/or blankets. The museum will be open for visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a special activity in one of the galleries (museum admission is included with event admission).
