Join Haggin Department of Museum Travel (DMT) on the first of our new series of self-transporting local trips entitled, “Churches and Cemeteries.” We will visit the magnificent Cathedral of the Annunciation, located at 400 W. Rose Street in Stockton, near Dameron Hospital. Taking place just ten days before Christmas, your visit will be particularly meaningful. Father Larry Machado will highlight the artistic and architectural features common to religious buildings and specifically to this cathedral. We will also learn the history of the cathedral and the basic tenets of Catholicism. After the tour of the cathedral, we will drive down the street to The Well, a non-profit hub for vocational training and youth mentoring. For Raegan and David Cicileo, their 12-year-old dream of a home for their non-profit, Restore Stockton, became a reality one year ago. Raegan will give us a tour of their studios. Afterward, you may linger over a cup of coffee or lunch or pick up a holiday gift. Beans are freshly roasted in house. Hidden in plain sight at 1200 N. Center Street, The Well is a community venue focusing on coffee, music, and the arts.
