On this day trip to San Jose, we will be touring three different points of interest. The Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph, the San Jose Museum of Art, and the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum.
We are starting with a guided tour of the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph. This is a large Roman Catholic Church designated a minor basilica by Pope John Paul II in 1997 and is listed as a California Historical Landmark. After the tour, there is plenty of time for an on-your-own lunch in downtown San Jose with several options to enjoy a meal. Next, we will meet up at the San Jose Museum of Art for a docent tour.
Founded in 1969, this museum is a leading showcase for modern and contemporary art with a permanent collection of West Coast Artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. Hop back on the bus for a short jaunt to the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum founded by the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis (AMORC) for a self-guided tour. Set in a beautiful garden, the museum holds the largest collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities in the Western United States and is known as a philosophical and educational public benefit organization.
