85th Annual McKee Student Art Contest & Exhibition

On View: 3/17/16 - 5/8/16

Celebrate the arts in education during the McKee Student Art Exhibit, the longest running student art exhibition in the country! This annual event features the work of student artists from kindergarten through grade 12.

The exhibition was first envisioned by founding patron Robert T. McKee, whose goal was to encourage students by providing a public venue for their artwork. All schools in San Joaquin County—public, private, charter, parochial and homeschools—receive invitations to submit their work. Last year, the Museum received over 1,000 entries chosen by teachers as the best of their class.

The Museum’s Tuleburg and West galleries will be filled with two- and three-dimensional artworks created in crayon, colored pencil, pastel, watercolor, oil and acrylic paint. There are also photographs, sculptures, collages and mixed-media pieces.  In addition to the traditional entries, this marks the fourth year with the addition of short digital films.
