Photographic Adrenaline: Works by Arturo Vera

On View: November 1, 2018 - January 27, 2019

Photographic Adrenaline includes more than 40 images from Vera’s long photographic career. From florals to street photography, Vera captures life’s moments with an in-tune, artistic eye.

Arturo Vera has spent nearly 40 years mastering the art of professional photography. Soon after earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, Vera embarked upon his creative calling with the motto, “Never look at light as an obstacle, but rather as a beautiful challenge.”

Throughout his career, Arturo’s subject matter has varied from wedding photography to the indigenous people of the Tarahumara tribe. His works have been seen from galleries to magazine covers and his many honors include being part of the inaugural exhibition at the Grand Theater Center for the Arts.

Since relocating to Stockton in 2001, he has compiled a considerable portfolio. The majority of the images that comprise his portfolio document Stockton and the surrounding beauty we all sometimes take for granted. Many of these images have been featured in well-attended exhibitions such as “Fog in Stockton,” “Murals in Stockton,” and “Floral and Photosynthesis – A Light Reaction.”
